The Missing Link for MK7 and MK8 (MQB) Cars!

We really love the MK7 and new MK8 Golfs and Jettas but the shifter has a couple of places where loose tolerances lead to less than stellar shifting. The result is that the shifter performance of the newest cars doesn't match the excellence of the rest of the package. Bring your shifter up to the level of the suspension, chassis and refinement with the Dieselgeek MQB Deluxe Shifter Bushing Kit! 

Included in this kit: MK7 Super Pin, Shaft Bushings, optional Super Slider, and the 5mm Alignment Pin to touch up your shifter adjustment. This kit is meant to replace all the factory cheap plastic parts with stuff that is durable, high quality, and precisely machined in the USA. (If you have our Sigma Shifter, do not purchase the Super Slider, the Sigma includes it's own Slider.)    

Install: Refer to the installation videos for each of the constituent components on the individual product description pages (linked above). Please note that you will need to remove the center console to install the Super Pin. This is the most tedious part of the install process. We have a video below. It's really not all that difficult.

What it Fits: The Mk7 Super Pin fits all 2015 and newer US-spec and Canadian-spec MK7, MK7.5, and MK8 Golf R, GTI, TDI, Alltrack, plus the 2019 and newer Jetta GLI MK7. This part works with five or six speed transmissions. These cars are based on VW MQB architecture and have a black plastic shift box. For the rest of the world this also includes:

Smoother and more precise

I was having trouble dialling in my side to side adjustment on my MK7 GTI. Either Reverse was hard to engage, or the 5-6 gate felt gritty. I could not seem to get it right, even with a full Sigma 6 installed. While installing a new shift knob, I noticed there was A LOT of play in the forward pivot and a bit more on the stick itself so I opted for the kit with the Super Pin and the stick bushings.

The install video makes the process idiot-proof and it's actually not a terrible job to do. The console is a piece of cake. Really. Just take your time and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.

Long story short, it worked! I adjusted my side to side with the Super Pin installed and I can now select all my gears smoothly. The shifter is tighter and more precise in all situations. Most of this is the Super Pin, I think. The stick bushings are more subtle but they took up most of the excess play and feel much smoother than the gummy stock bushings. Superb product set worthy of the Diesel Geek name. Love it!

Improved shifting. Good value.

Installed these parts in my 2015 Golf Sportwagen which after 95K and teaching two kids how to drive a manual transmission was suffering from too-sloppy shifting. The improvement was noticeable immediately, much crisper and more precise shifting. To be clear, I'm not saying we now have a performance shifting machine, but that was never the objective. For me, well worth the cost and the moderate hassle of removing the center console.
